Ian Yolles, Head of Marketing, Nau
The Birth, Death and Resurrection of Nau ...OR...How to Keep a Determined Brand in Business
In 2007, NAU launched as a brand and a company dedicated to sustainability. From design and materials to corporate philanthropy, the company produced great clothing that seamlessly blended beauty, performance and sustainability. Nau seemed to be developing a strong following but in May of 2008 had to close it’s doors due to the inability to secure late round financing in an unusually tight credit market. Unlike some, Nau was not deemed “too big to fail” and bailed out by the Feds. Ian Yolles will discuss how the pillars of the brand created an opportunity for revival in October 2008 with the help of it’s new parent company Horny Toad.
